Last Clarinet, a magical children’s work for voice and orchestra

The Last Clarinet, in which Stewart’s magical children’s Christmas story is set to music by award-winning composer Paul Englishby (TVs Luther, the RSC’s The Tempest, etc – see http://www.englishby.com/) was first performed in 1996 by Richard Stilgoe and the Britten Symphonia.

Its captivating mix of pathos, humour and memorable tunefulness continues to delight young delighted audiences all around the world.
