Stewart is currently writer in residence at Bardfield Primary Academy, Basildon, Essex, and Canterbury Academy, Primary and Secondary, in Kent. He spent the week of 28 Jan – 1 Feb at Bardfield, and is doing a day a week in Canterbury.
In all schools he is helping to improve literacy and develop a love of books, reading and writing through his ever-popular book-in-a-day programme.
He recently visited Canterbury Cathedral with a group of talented Year 6 Bardfield students and used the experience to work with them on ‘What Would You Have Done?’ – a thrilling historical story that carries the decision taken by the knights who murdered Thomas Becket story into the Canterbury Blitz of 1942.
With equally grim consequences!
