The workshops and talks
Exciting and interactive workshops are tailored to suit each school's requirements.
Teachers are invited to arrange what they want and for which age group(s) at the time of booking: some schools opt for shorter sessions with several year groups, others more intensive work with 1 or 2 groups or classes.
Schools frequently ask for an assembly.
Many schools have done a 'book in a day project' which leaves the school and the pupils with a permanent record of their achievement - details on application.
Recently Stewart has worked with a group of Year 5-6 children in Basildon, Essex to make a film.
All ages catered for and all regions covered.
Subjects range from SATs-orientated fiction and non-fiction to literary creativity, Shakespeare and history.
Most schools like Stewart to do a book sale/signing during the visit.
Charges are guided by the Society of Authors' recommended rate of £350 a day plus expenses (which are always kept to a minimum), with reductions for small schools, multiple-day bookings, etc.
